Our one-day comprehensive X-ray Interpretation course focuses on essential emergency radiology topics. This course is a perfect introduction for junior doctors rotating to the Emergency Department. It would also benefit Emergency Nurse Practitioners, General Practitioners working in Minor Injuries Units, and serve as a refresher for more senior EM trainees looking to update their knowledge of limb injuries and their management.

About our Emergency Radiology Course
What does the EM Radiology course cover?
The course will help you develop a structured approach to interpreting radiological investigations commonly performed in ED. The topics include:
- Limb injury X-ray interpretation and overview of clinical fracture management
- Immobilisation techniques for different fracture types
- Fracture classification systems relevant to Emergency Medicine
- Assessment of head and facial injuries
How is the EM Radiology course taught?
The course is delivered by senior ED Physicians, who all have experience of the common pitfalls seen on the shop floor. The lectures will be conveniently separated in body areas from ‘head to toe’.
Throughout the course, there will be a mixture of lectures, interactive X-ray interpretation reviews, and quizzes. You will be able to ask questions and interact with other candidates and the facilitator.
What skills will you develop?
The course will help you develop a systematic and structured approach to X-ray interpretation with a focus on radiological investigations commonly performed in the Emergency Department.
You’ll increase your confidence in managing a variety of bony injuries often seen following trauma, in managing common fractures including methods of immobilisation. You’ll be able to communicate about X-ray findings and refer patients to other specialists more efficiently.
